Looking Back on 2007

I realize this post is a little late, but I wanted to wait until my six sentences were posted up on Six Sentences! So, here we go:

2007 was quite the year for me -

• I transitioned (not so smoothly, but at least it happened…) from my first job after college into my second, both gotten completely on my own merit and NOT through connections (which is how most of my friends got their jobs…either connections or because they’re really rich and their parents have money in the bank that they now work for).
  
• I got to go on several ‘business trips’ – 2 photo shoots abroad, in Vietnam and Malaysia, and also to NYC for Fashion Week in September (best. trip. ever.)
• I re-fell in love with my high school ex, Colin, 8 years after we first dated, which we both think is totally crazy.
• I found out who my real friends aren’t – namely Kevin, and that bitch that literally got into bed with a guy I dated the very night that things between us ended.
• I made a new best friend – Christina, the makeup artist, and we’ve had many adventures together, starting with the shoot we worked on in Malaysia when we were roomates in the most awesome hotel room ever!
• I discovered a ton of new music, mostly through Colin – bands like Harlem Shakes, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, LCD Soundsystem, Explosions in the Sky, etc were all introduced to me by him, and I love him for it.
• I started writing poetry again after over a year of not being able to come up with anything.
  

That’s all I can think of at the moment, but anyway, as mentioned above, I’m published! Like this post, it’s called Looking Back on 2007. And although it’s kind of a downer, the way I feel is completely different now (it’s about Colin), and I couldn’t be happier.
