These pictures/the painting say it all better than I can in words.
First, the flowers – above is what they were like in the bouquet, and below is what they look like in the vase in my room now.
The blank journal/sketchbook
The opening page, he wrote “If found, Please Return To: _________ Baby Jesus thanks you.” LoL
The postcard is of a painting he likes by his 2nd fave American artist, Edward Hopper. Inside he copied his fave painting by him (couldn’t find a postcard of it, apparently)
My favourite page: “Your eyes are captivating – I almost took the risk of trying to draw them from memory, but I know how frustrating it would be for me, and how I wouldn’t do you justice at all. So instead, I will write this gibberish to express how I LOVE You.”
My 2nd fave page: “When I was little, I used to get really excited to wake up at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise, and I would sit/lie on top of the dryer [mini drawing of a dryer], and fall right back asleep.” Reading this made me smile and want to just squeeze him in a tight hug and plant a kiss on his head.
All the other stuff, from left to right: New York themed stickers, with the Statue of Liberty, a yellow cab, coffee, pretzels, an apple, a Broadway street sign, and tshirt that says “I love the big apple”; a Brooklyn subway stop magnet – I once complained that I have crappy magnets on my board, and he chose Brooklyn cause he wants to explore it together more; the VDay card – not exactly romantic, but goes with the general NYC theme and plus it’s pretty cool; and a mirror from the MoMA.
Crap, just realized I forgot to take a pic of the bottle opener he got me, so I’m gonna find a pic online and post it here:
It’s the one on the right, with a giant smiley face. LoL Totally random, and I probably won’t use it until I move out (don’t really drink at home, not sure why), but it makes me wanna buy beer just so I can open the bottle. haha
